Archiving a Google Classroom course makes it read-only which prevents students from turning things in or posting comments in the class. 👩🏫🍎
💡 It's important to archive your courses once the school year has ended, but there is one super important thing you need to do BEFORE you archive your course!
👉 It is essential that you RETURN all student assignments BEFORE you archive your class.
This will transfer ownership of the assignment back to the student so that they aren't filling up your Google Drive account.
⚠️ Note: I do NOT recommend deleting courses. You never know when you might need to document your interactions and communications with students.
💡 Use the "to-do" feature of Google Classroom to quickly review all of your assignments and locate the ones that still need to be returned.
Archiving a course will also remove the class card from your home screen so you aren't seeing old courses each time you sign in.
