This is the second time this horse has worked with vaulting, the first time was to the left, and of course, this is then the first time to the right. (Sorry we couldn't video the first time.)
Although this is this horse's second session, we progressed through all of the same steps as if it was the first. This does allow the video to be a bit shorter, many horses would require more repetition during the approaches and vaulting.
The philosophy of this training is simple: 1) use very small incremental steps. 2) Expect the horse to respond, and a suitable response is to "stop and see" instead of any sort of flight reflex. 3) If you get zero response, up the pressure just enough to get one; otherwise you don't know if you have a "stop and see" type horse or one more prone to flight reflex.
