EASY FATTET HUMMUS RECIPE || Fatteh Hummus Recipe || Fattet Hummus with Yogurt and Crunchy Pita
In this video, we show you an Easy Fattet Hummus Recipe. Fattet Hummus is also called Fatteh hummus, and it is a very popular dish in Middle Eastern countries including Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. Fattet Hummus is made using layers of crunchy pita, garlic yogurt, seasoned chickpeas and a pine nut topping. Fatteh or Fattet is usually served warm but it can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
Fatteh hummus is usually served for breakfast or brunch in the Arab countries, but it is particularly popular during the month of Ramadan. Fatteh is a warming and hearty dish that has all the flavours of humus but is uniquely presented in layers. This Fattet Hummus with Yogurt and Crunchy Pita should be served immediately so that you can enjoy the crunchy pita layer, but it is equally delightful when the pita has absorbed all the tangy and creamy flavours of the humus.
To make this Fattet Hummus Recipe, you will need:
2 pita breads
olive oil
1 cup yogurt
salt
black pepper
1 garlic clove
2 cups of cooked chickpeas
salt and black pepper
1/2 tsp cumin powder
juice of half a lemon
1 tbs butter
2 tbs pine nuts
paprika
cayenne pepper
pomegranate seeds
*the best thing about Fatteh Hummus is that you can adjust the quantities of all the ingredients as per your taste.
Fatteh Hummus can be prepared in a variety of ways in Syrian, Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine, but here we show you an easy method using ingredients that you are most likely to have at home.
