So one quick way to help relieve occasional constipation is to do the I Love You belly massage.
I'll kind of demonstrate and then talk you through it along the way. But I usually have people start with taking one or two really nice, deep belly breaths. Good.
And then I want them to find where their hip bones are at. So you start on your right side and you trace the colon moving up and around until you reach your left hip bone. And once you're here, you find that right hip bone, usually an inch or two from the belly button. Everyone's anatomy is different, and you just take small circular motions providing movement throughout the colon.
This is trying to contribute in peristalsis, which is an action that our body wants to go through naturally. So what I recommend for people to do is to take 5 minutes at night if they've been experiencing some constipation before they go to bed and do this, and then the next morning take 5 minutes to practice their bowel routine and see if they notice a difference in the constipation relief.
I'm going kind of quickly through the motions now, but this is the area that you want to trace. Like I said, going from right hip bone up to right rib over to left rib. Down to left hip bone, keeping good breathing throughout.
