JCU Head of Zoology and Ecology Professor Lin Schwarzkopf says cane toads have fewer predators when they reach urban environments which allows them to have smaller poison glands.
“It’s hard to tell how much reduced the threat really is because they have smaller poison glands, but we haven’t actually measured how much poison is produced,” she told Sky News Australia.
