Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection. It can be hard to identify and can lead to death.
While sepsis can affect anyone at any age, young children are at greater risk for sepsis. Across the world, 40 per cent of all sepsis cases are in children under five.
The best chance to get better from sepsis is to treat it quickly.
