The Daily Telegraph’s Tim Blair says the Labor government is "basically fining" itself after backtracking on 33,000 COVID-19 fines across New South Wales.
“they’ve issued the fines – it's gonna cost them more to refund the fines than what they would have got if they received the fines because of just admin and all the other nonsense,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“But of course, we can’t ... gloat too much about the government fining itself because where does the government get its money from - we’ve all been fined.”
