A trial bike lane in Port Philip, Melbourne has been removed after a “storm of protest by locals” Sky News host Chris Smith says.

Mr Smith discussed the issue with Port Philip Councillor, Andrew Bond.

“As you may expect our residents were rather unhappy with this particular program especially once the concrete blocks and bollards and yellow paint from one end of the city started to appear on our streets,” Mr Bond said.

“This new program was rushed, it was rolled out without too much thought and in the opinion of many of our residents it was completely unnecessary.”
