Former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian could have “saved herself” from an ICAC investigation, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“Once Daryl Maguire resigned, and all of us knew he was under an ICAC cloud in 2018, she could have saved herself by going down to the ICAC then and handing over all the information she had,” Mr Clennell said.
“Instead, she did interviews with people like me during the Wagga by-election, trying to dismiss his behaviour and trying to carry on as normal.
“I think that was her number one mistake – but it’s taken a full year for ICAC to garner more and get on top of it.”
