My 2013 Nissan Altima had the CVT start to fail while driving and I caught the breakdown on my phone, as well as the total failure in a parking lot where I pulled off. Happened at 92k miles. Lots of other similar videos on YT of these awful Nissan transmissions, but wanted to throw mine in to help dissuade anyone on the fence about purchasing a Nissan with a CVT.

Nissan's CVT transmissions are STILL unreliable and should be avoided. Here are some credible sources with fairly large sample sizes:
CarComplaints.com gives the Altima an "Avoid Like the Plague" rating with hundreds of transmission failure reports [ Ссылка ] -- also, the 2013 and 2014 Altima are both in the Top 10 Worst Vehicles in their entire database (that includes pretty much all makes and models back to 2000): [ Ссылка ]
NHTSA complaint database lists 239 powertrain complaints for the 2013 Altima, most of which are CVT problems [ Ссылка ] (for comparison, the 2013 Accord has 57 complaints, and 2013 Camry has 34 -- those are direct competitors who sold similar numbers)
