In late fall and early winter bass are feeding heavily on baitfish, like shad, and a lipless crankbait is a perfect imitator for this type of forage. One of the best ways to fish a lipless crankbait is to tick the top of a grass line and rip the bait out of the grass when it gets bogged down. This quick darting action of the lipless crankbait will often draw a crushing reaction strike from bass who would turn a blind eye to other presentations in the cold water.
