Over a couple of days, learning how to make one of the oldest pigments - 'lamp black'. This is one of the easiest ways to make the pigment Carbon Black PBK-7 in a non-industrial context.
Materials for pigment creation (oil lamp simulation):
Vegetable oil
Narrow neck glass bottle
Metal cover (bin lid or the like)
Inefficient wick (toilet paper)
Bricks for support
To make oil paint - use a little linseed oil and mix thoroughly. We used a glass muller to mix the oil with the pigment.
