The Women’s High Jump Competition kicked off at 17:55 (local time) at the Gateshead International Stadium, in Gateshead, England on May 23, 2021.
The temperature at the stadium was 12°C (53.6°F), and it was raining. The Humidity in Gateshead that evening was 84%, and the Atmospheric Pressure was 0.984 atm (996.99 hPa). Gateshead International Stadium is located at Sea Level by the Shore of the River Tyne.
The Competition featured a Stellar-Field of 11 athletes. Six of them were Ranked in the TOP ELEVEN, The Number 1, Number 2, and Number 3 in the World were scheduled to start. How It Unfolded:
The Action is picked up at Round 5, Height @ 1.91m:
Lasitskene (ANA), Trost (ITA), and Lake (GBR) were eliminated. Borthwick (GBR), and Lićwinko (POL) continued to the next Round.
Round 6, Height @ 1.94m:
Both Borthwick (GBR), and Lićwinko (POL) missed their three opportunities for clearing this height. Kamila Lićwinko (POL) wins the competition because she had the better record throughout the competition.
The World’s Number Two Female High Jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh (UKR) did not start. In total 8 of 10 competitors had a Personal Best or Season’s Best Mark.
