In this video house flipping brothers Dave and Rich show you how to cut tile with a wet saw and they do a Kobalt tile saw review. A wet saw is a circular saw that is suspended in a water pan. As the saw spins, the blade is cooled by the water.
Cutting tile is something you definitely can do. However, it does take patience to minimize chipping.
Tile saws can range from $100 to $1000. However we use a Kobalt tile saw that is around $200 and we have had great success with it.
It all depends on how many tile jobs you plan to do. If you only want to do a few tile jobs, this tile saw is perfect. However, if you are going to make this your living, invest in a tile saw for $500 or $1,000.

Usually Dave will call out a measurement. Rich will mark that on the tile with a marker. Make sure that the marker you use can be erased with water. Then we put it on the tile saw and cut the piece.
To get a clean cut, we put the side that we don't need on the left. Then we cut the piece, but slow down about an inch before the end of the cut. Then we apply pressure the to the left side, the side we don't need to keep.
Push the tile through very slowly at this point. The tile should break on the left side. You can then trim the right side easily by pushing is through very slowly.
