British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is appealing to more people to come forward to receive the coronavirus jab, urging Brits to regard it like a regular flu vaccine for the vulnerable.
More than 13 million people have received their first dose of the vaccine as the government aims to vaccine an additional two million people in top priority groups.
Mr Johnson stressed the AstraZeneca jab was safe, spruiking World Health Organisation support after South Africa halted its rollout due to poor efficacy against a new strain.
Despite the vaccine rollout, the UK reported 13,000 new infections and more than 1,000 deaths.
