Day 2 of the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival
Riders: Jeff Lenosky (Trail Boss, literally), JF Rides, and Unprofessional Kyle
No drones because of close proximity with the airport.
Vlog Description: We started Day 2 planning to join the Trail Boss ride leaving the festival around 10. However, due to long lines and shortages of bikes, it took an hour and a half for Kyle and James to acquire two Intense bike demos. By this time we figured that we were out of the loop for the Trail Boss Ride and changed our ride strategy to visit the Hogs trifecta. Unfortunately, the lines for the shuttles accumulated some seriously long wait times, but the USFS Ranger at the tent nearby the bike valet gave us some beta on a sweet local trail called Brewer at the Airport Loop. Essentially, he said riding to the Broken Arrow Trail Head would be time saved and that the Brewer Trail was a bomber downhill track worth our visit. We took him up on that.
After a short ride to the Brewer Trail we quickly were treated to an awesome, fast, and chunky singletrack, violent at times. Near the end, I passed a woman and didn't think much about it. A couple yards down I rode up to a familiar face of the bearded biking community. It was Robert of the B1ker channel and the woman that I passed was Ms. B1ker. While waiting for Kyle and James, I gave B1ker some small talk and decided to mess with him a little bit, especially since I'm a shadowy member of the mtb community. James (a fanboy of the B1ker channel) finally arrived I said to Robert, "Robert this is James with JF Rides!" Their friendship blossomed into "sticker war" and they rode off together, later to be discovered at the nearby road intersection and end of the trail.
After mounting my camera gear, I powered my mortally wounded gopro and chatted with Ms. B1ker in the process about how cold it gets in Craig Colorado and finally made my way down to a massive group of shredders: the Trail Boss group ride. We hitched a ride to the party with Jeff and his crew and took to the streets to ride Brewer one more time before departing to Broken Arrow. How or why I was allowed to run the follow cam behind Legendary Pro Rider Jeff Lenosky is still unknown, but I'm not complaining. It was a fun ride to say the least and most importantly we discovered that Jeff's favorite trail in GJ/Fruita was the Horsethief Bench, coincidentally my favorite trail and one that he tried to trials the droppin. Here's to Jeff cleaning the dreaded "droppin climb" someday, unedited with drones of course. Thanks for riding with us Jeff!
