The radio host who admitted her interview with US President Joe Biden had pre-written questions, resigned on Sunday.
Andrea Lawful-Sanders, previous host of ‘The Source’ on WURD.96.1 FM, interviewed the 81-year-old last Wednesday.
Sanders’ interview with the president was Biden’s first since his calamitous presidential debate performance.
The former radio host appeared on CNN’s ‘First of All with Victor Blackwell’ when she revealed questions were fed to her by Biden’s aides.
Eight questions were given to the former radio host, but only four were used during the interview.
WURD Radio’s president and CEO Sara Lomax stated on Sunday she was not involved in negotiations for Biden’s interview.
In a statement, Lomax also confirmed the questions were “pre-determined” and that Sanders would part ways with WURD.
“The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners. As a result, Ms. Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately,” she said.
