What its like to daily drive a Jeep Gladiator on 40s! I don't get the rest gas mileage but i wouldn't have it any other way!
Driving a Jeep on 40-inch tires can be an exciting and challenging experience. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Steering: The increased size and weight of the tires can make steering more difficult, especially at lower speeds. You may need to use more force to turn the wheel and make wider turns.
Braking: The added weight of the larger tires can increase your stopping distance, so you should leave extra space between you and other vehicles. You may also need to apply the brakes more firmly to come to a complete stop.
Acceleration: The larger tires can also affect your vehicle's acceleration and overall performance. You may need to adjust your driving habits to compensate for the reduced acceleration.
Clearance: The larger tires will increase your ground clearance, which can be useful for off-roading, but may also make it more difficult to enter or exit parking lots or drive-throughs.
Fuel economy: Larger tires will also decrease your fuel economy, as they require more energy to move. You may need to fill up more frequently or plan your trips more carefully to avoid running out of gas.
Maintenance: Finally, larger tires may require more frequent maintenance, such as alignment adjustments, tire rotations, and tire balancing.
