We take a look at the mechanics of his slow, weight to heel-based approach combined with quick stick handles, and compare it to the similar style used by Patrick Kane. Zegras uses edge drags and internal hip rotation to move laterally on the ice, rather than relying solely on pushing like most players. By combining these mechanics with a wide lateral movement pattern, Zegras creates a challenge for the goalie that allows him to exploit openings.
