The Marker Duke PT is for those who skin or hike, but want a 'real' binding on the way down.
Pop the toe piece off and it's the exact same weight as the Salomon Shift and when you're ready to go downhill, it's a full-on alpine binding — not an iffy touring binding on your feet. Both toe pieces combined are about the weight as a tall-boy beer in your bag so that added weight is too much, then we'd recommend the Salomon Shift (overall 295g lighter/binding) or Dynafit ST Radical (overall 645g lighter/binding).

Should you buy the DIN 12 or 16? Unless you are dropping bigs cliffs or doing double back-flips in the backcountry, go with the 12.
