Many of the summits we activate for SOTA (Summits on the Air) are also within a POTA (parks on the Air) park. The POTA log submittal process is different than SOTA, and one of the reasons I held off on POTA for a while. Since I usually hand write my logs on summit, and then manually load them to the SOTA database... I wanted a way to convert the SOTA log file for POTA activation credit.

There are may ways to track contacts, and submit for a POTA activation. This is the simplest way I've found to convert already updated SOTA logs, and use for POTA. For POTA only activations, I recently used HAMRS software and enjoyed how intuitive and easy if was for log submittal.

One quick note, while SOTA require 4 contacts to get points for an activation for POTA you will need 10 contacts. You also don't need to call "CQ POTA" or identify POTA when making contacts, as long as you are in the boundary of the park. For further POTA information, please see the website links below.
