The Subaru FB20 and FB25 are workhorse economy engines. Their horizontal nature leads them to have possible oiling issues relating to seepage, weeping, or leaking.

The heads, timing cover and valve covers are all places where oil can exit. Coupled with high load, rpms, and vibration the possibility of loosing some oil is real. Regularly engine oil maintenance will help keep the FB20/25 running for a long time.
