"O Tannenbaum" (O Christmas Tree) is a very old german folk song, traditionally performed on Christmas.
This one here is a jazzed up version. The first half is played as written by Vince Guaraldi (A Charlie Brown Christmas, 1965). The second half is my own attempt of arrangement, but still based on the harmonical approach of Vincent Guaraldi.
The sound of the piano is a sampled Steinway German D (Ivory II by Synthogy).
I replaced the lowest piano notes by a virtual acoustic upright double bass (Trilian by Spectrasonics).
When I recorded the piano, I didn't expect to record acoustic drums. But when I heard the piano together with the acoustic bass, I thought it would be nice with drums to get that intimate jazz trio sound.
I hope you like it. Thank you.
