In my first full movie, I interview a few survivors of the genocide that took place in the municipality of Prijedor, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1992. This genocide was one of many and the second biggest mass killing during the Bosnian War, next to the Srebrenica Massacre. These survivors share their stories which are similar to the thousands of people who were affected during this event. Unfortunately, more than 3,000 people, in and around Prijedor, were killed by Bosnian Serb forces in a systematic manner.
The purpose of this video is to spread awareness and educate previous and future generations about some of the atrocities that happened in Prijedor that are often not talked about. These events are often denied by ethnic Serbs and claimed to be lies. Prijedor, along with other major parts of Bosnia & Herzegovina today, have been annexed by the Serb Republic, a post-war state created within the country. Ethnic Serbs both in Bosnia & Herzegovina and in Serbia deny the mass murders and war crimes that the Serb Republic was built on.
Survivors of these atrocities want nothing but acknowledgment and justice for the acts committed against the Bosnian Muslim (Bosniak) civilians by the Bosnian Serb Army and other paramilitaries.
Never forget what happened in Prijedor, 1992.
