JustAnswer Customer: i am getting an error code of 8 flashes then 4 flashes with my 2 month old rheem performance platinum water heater.
JustAnswer Customer: I'm assuming it needs to be reset.
JustAnswer Customer: i turned it off, waited about 5 min, then turned the dial all the way up and down six times and it is still giving me the same sequence and not working.

WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: There are two valves that it can be.
WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: I'll load pictures of both.

WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: With that gas valve you need to unplug it for 5 minutes then plug it back in.
WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: within the first 30 seconds of plugging it back in you need to turn the dial all the way up and all the way down 5 times.
WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: if that doesn't reset it the valve is bad and under warranty as is the labor.
WCohn: Journeyman Plumber: Parts 6 years labor is 1 year.
