At the second game of Men's Doubles Final, Malaysia Masters 2023, Kang Min Hyuk from South Korea (SK) was given a yellow card for an attempt to delay the game.
After Kang falling around, he and his pair, Seo Seung Jae, were 'mopping' the floor with their shoes. There were no sign of cleaning helpers to assist them at all.
The fine for a yellow card is US$250.
Later at the third game, Kang Min Hyuk stepped outside the court. He got some trouble with his shoes. Again for causing an unnecessary delay, the umpire then gave him a red card.
As the the result, The SK got in-game penalty which means the Malaysian automatically earned a point without having an actual rally.
Aside for bearing in-game penalty, there was a heavy fine about US$500 waiting for him.
The SK coach looked upset over his pupil misconduct and the outcome.
