Sky News host Chris Kenny says former prime minister Kevin Rudd’s beliefs about News Corp are “thin on evidence” and “politically naïve”.
It comes after Mr Rudd appeared at the Senate inquiry into media diversity on Friday.
“Apparently he didn’t fail as prime minister because of his backdown over climate action, not because of his appalling treatment of his colleagues, not because they voted him out of his job in favour of Julia Gillard,” Mr Kenny said.
“No, Kevin Rudd believes he was a gift to the nation, and not only did News Corp do him in, but voters were dumb enough to be conned by this evil media organisation.
“His submission and evidence today was intellectually barren, lacked hard details, and amounted essentially to outrage that News Corp media would dare to run arguments and facts that run counter to his green left views.”
