More than 50 people have died and at least 70 others are missing after record rainfall caused severe flooding in western Germany and Belgium.
Around half of the deaths were reported in the German district of Ahrweiler, after a river burst its banks, destroying houses and causing widespread damage.
The water has receded now but has left much of Schuld in ruins, with residents trying to take in the scale of the damage.
Some people have lost their lives and power failures overnight have left many frantically trying to contact their relatives.
