Four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson has agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Dallas Mavericks, according to multiple NBA insider reports on July 1, 2024.
Shams Charania with The Athletic was the first to report the deal.
The 34-year-old guard will reportedly sign a three-year, $50 million contract with Dallas in a multiple-team sign-and-trade deal between the Mavericks, the Golden State Warriors and the Charlotte Hornets, whom multiple reports state will receive Mavs forward Josh Green as a part of the deal.
It is not known yet what assets would be going back to the Warriors.
Thompson reportedly had interest from multiple playoff contenders across the league, including the Los Angeles Lakers. The former Warriors guard had other offers for four years and more money, according to ESPN, but decided to take less to sign in Dallas.
