How do you test your shoulder strength 💪 and why is it important after injury?
Today Matt tests his patient Eva's shoulder strength using a handheld dynamometer - a cool bit of Tech we use in clinic.
Testing shoulder strength is important to get an accurate and objective measure helping our team of physio's during diagnosis, and also helping to give patient's a prognosis based on actual data. By doing this testing we compare both sides and also compare strength ratio's. We use this device during shoulder rehabilitation following many different types of injuries including shoulder dislocations, subluxations or rotator cuff injuries. It helps us to give an informatively guide our patients when considering returning to activity, work and sport.
