Black Balloon day is a day to remember loved ones lost to overdose. In honor of that day, Hard Knox Talks has invited Marie Agoritis to tell her story of how she tragically lost her son to an opioid (Fentanyl) overdose. Marie will also talk about what she is doing to advocate for harm reduction and raise awareness around the opioid addiction and overdose crisis. She is passionate and driven to push for supervised consumption sites, addiction management, safe supply legislation, and decriminalization. I am deeply humbled to have a board member from Moms Stop the Harm share her story, and send her message of experience, strength, and hope to anyone who might find comfort in it, on Hard Knox Talks.
