Melinda has had a fascination for animals and painting them for as long as she can remember. Brought up in the Temple, London, Melinda's earliest influences were the stone lions, dolphins and curious creatures all staring down at her. Alongside this were the stunning stained glass windows of the Temple Church. These have both been depictive through her career.
Melinda had a painting winning first prize at the Royal Academy, London, at the age of 13 and at 15 had an art exhibition in Buckland Village, selling all of her paintings. From here she went to Brighton Art College before starting her own fashion design company and label, hand painting silk and suede clothes and selling them throughout Europe.
Her painting continued and this experience ignited another chapter. Melinda is inspired to share her love of these rare and exceptional animals that she discovered on her travels. Through her paintings she hopes to raise awareness for the ever growing need to protect and preserve these incredible creatures in their natural habitat: the wilds of the African Bush.
