It was a difficult start to the day for Jusuf Nurkic and the Portland Trail Blazers after hearing that Nurkic's grandmother passed away this morning from complications due to COVID-19. After the game, Nurkic admitted that he didn't want to play after hearing the news, but felt like she would've wanted him to play: "She made me play, I guess."
Despite the difficult news, Nurkic showed out -- finishing with 22 PTS, 21 REB -- and helped the Blazers secure the 8th seed with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
