Form is the key to a successful Lagree workout. Today let’s dive in to proper form for CATFISH. Catfish is one of my favorite core stabilizing moves however the form is often lost in translation during group classes with its small range of motion 🔥💥 Let’s take a look at the proper form for your Catfish (1 light spring or 2 for more support)
1. Step onto the carriage holding the handlebars with your toes on the middle centerline of the carriage. The further back your feet are on the carriage, the more intensity you will feel. The closer your feet are towards the front of the carriage, the less intensity you’ll feel.
2. Bring her shoulders slightly behind the wrist and then freeze them in that position. Maintain a soft bend in the elbows.
3. Lift the heels and squeeze the knees together. Keep the heels lifted high the entire time.
4. Maintain a neutral spine by allowing hips to stay in line with the shoulders for the entire duration of the movement and keep the chin off the chest looking slighting ahead.
5. The knees will start under the hips extend out as far as your personal range of motion allows (which is before the hips drop) and then use the core to pull the knees back under the hips. Never letting the carriage close.
6. The tempo is everything on this move. The slow controlled pace will get those muscles shaking like crazy! Not just the core, but the lats, shoulder and triceps too!
7. Intensity this move by walking your feet further out on the carriage while still maintaining the hip shoulder alignment and control.
