Arctic Studies provide an opportunity for students to focus on the Arctic as a particular field of specialization within their chosen master’s degree programme.
ARCTIC STUDIES CAN BE FOLLOWED IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS:
As an area specialization in the two-year Master’s Programme Culture, Communication and Globalization (CCG) (70 ECTS, certificate of specialization).
As part of another Master’s programme. The following programmes at AAU have pre-approved the
Arctic Studies specialization modules for their students: Tourism, Development and International Relations (DIR), and European Studies (ES).
The following programmes at AAU have pre-approved the Arctic Studies specialization modules for their students:
*Tourism
*Development and International Relations (DIR)
*European Studies (ES).
The region of interest in “Arctic Studies” is the Circumpolar North, including Greenland, the northern parts of The Nordic Countries, Canada, Alaska and Russia, the North Atlantic and the Polar Sea.
