Successful nanny harvest to start off the New Year. Spot & stalk. Got skunked last season and went every weekend. On this hunt I get to my spot, sit down, and pull the trigger. Talk about luck! Goat fell in a bad spot. I originally was trying to lasso it with rope to pull it up but the more I surveyed the landscape I found a safe way to zigzag down to get the goat. This unit is hard to hunt because it's steep which is why hardly anybody hunts here. Public land. It's only open for muzzleloaders in January & June. No high power, centerfire firearms are allowed (Which I would rather use than a smoke pole). The rest of the year it's bows and arrows. I'm a firearms hunter only so gotta make every hunt count. Happy New Year!
