Having finished 5th in the pre-final, I would be starting from 5th in the A final.

Unfortunately, the kart that was being used for 5th place starters was very slow in a straight line. I had been watching it go backwards in every race so I knew any chance of a podium finish was gone. I slowly dropped down the order throughout the race, luckily gaining a few places back thanks to incidents in front of me. At the end of a painfully slow race, I crossed the line in 9th.

Not the result I wanted at the end of what had been a brilliant day!

The winter series lightweight crown is still there for the taking with the top 4 drivers separated by only 6 points. Round 3 at Daytona Milton Keynes is going to be exciting!
