CommSec chief economist Craig James breaks down the latest ‘State of the States’ economic performance report.
South Australia took out the top spot with economic growth, unemployment, construction work and dwelling starts.
Western Australia ranked first on relative population growth and equipment investment.
Mr James noted that Western Australia has the most “momentum” on its side.
“Next quarter or the quarter after that we could see Western Australia at the top of the leaderboard,” he told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
