This is my personal countdown of the best beaches on Koh Phangan. I’ve rated the beaches by the quality of the sand, the water, and the overall beach beauty.
If you are unsure where to stay on Koh Phangan this video will help you visualize the TOP 10 Beaches of the island.
🌴I have seen every single beach on Koh Phangan, and here is my selection:
1. Haad Rin (Full Moon Beach) is my favorite beach. Wide and long, it is perfect for swimming, and the sand is very soft. The only downside is that it can get very crowded.
2. Haad Mae Haad & Koh Ma - I love watching the sunset from here. There's good snorkeling off this beach as well (swim in the direction of Koh Ma)
3. Haad Thian (Tien) Beach - You need a boat ride to get here. You can catch a longtail boat to Haad Yuan and walk over to Haad Tien (15min hike) or you can get off directly on Haad Tien. This beach feels secluded and bohemian. It's small but very charming with crystal clear water.
4. Haad Yuan Beach—You need a boat ride to get here. This is a fantastic beach. Like Haad Tien, it has a bohemian feel, is secluded, and has crystal clear water.
5. Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach - This fantastic long beach has a big bolder on one side. The water is a bit shallow here at low tide, but it's ok for swimming. There are fewer people on this beach compared to other places.
6. Haad Than Sadet Beach—This is a very secluded beach in the middle of that national park. Not many people come or stay here. The beach gets very deep very fast, and it's fantastic for swimming.
7. Bottle Beach and Viewpoint - you need to catch a boat ride from Chalok Lam Village to get to Bottle Beach. This is a small beach with crystal clear water. The beach is very photogenic. The only inconvenience is that you need a ride to get there. You can also hike through the national park, but it's a long walk under Thailand's hot sun.
8. Haad Khom (Coral Beach)—This is a Small, charming bay. There are some sandflies on this beach, so wear coconut oil to protect yourself from bites.
9. Chalok Lam Beach (Chaloklum) is a lovely long beach that gets very shallow at low tide. Many fishermen's boats are parked here.
10. Malibu Beach. This beach is right next to Chaloklum. Be careful: there are lots of sandflies on this beach, and there are also some sea urchins in the water.

During the pandemic, my partner and I were stranded in Thailand for a year and a half. What started as a Covid nightmare soon became an incredible opportunity to travel Thailand from top to bottom.
We felt so lucky and grateful for this fantastic chance and decided to make a film to share our good fortune with you. The idea of this documentary is to transport you to all the best places in Thailand while sharing with you our 18-month adventure. 🌴🥥☀️
This is my first feature film. If you decide to see it, I would love to hear from you. 🙏😊
