Israel’s retaliatory attack against Iran last week increases the possibility of a regional conflict starting in the Middle East.
Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft’s Executive Vice President Dr Trita Parsi discusses the issues facing the Biden administration’s handling of the situation.
“I think the Biden administration does deserve credit for the work they did over the weekend, to make sure that the different attacks both by Iranian and the Israelis were kept at a level so that it actually didn’t escalate into a full-scale war,” Dr Parsi told Sky New Australia.
“At the same time, we do have to recognise that we shouldn’t be in this position in the first place.
“We should not be on the precipice of war.”
