President of the Center of the American Experiment John Hinderaker says the fact US President Donald Trump is being blamed for the current riots in America demonstrates "the insanity that has gripped a number of people on the American left".
He said Americans are having a "very tough spring" following the coronavirus shutdowns and now this "terrible incident" taking place.
Police and protesters are facing off in another night of unrest in the United States as violent demonstrations continue to erupt over the death of Mr Floyd.
Mr Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes as he told them "I can't breathe".
Nationwide protests have subsequently been sparked across the country, leading to violence, the burning of buildings and further deaths and arrests.
Mr Hinderaker told Sky News host Andrew Bolt "suburbs have been burned to the ground" following the widespread protests.
He also said the police department involved in the incident is "one which has been troubled for quite a few years".
However he said, "there are a lot of people in our country … who are just looking to create a racial crisis, that’s just a fact, that’s the world we live in".
