Crafting a yew character selfbow.
This bow is the shortest I've ever made. The stick is 38" tip to tip drawing 45lbs at 18". Very fun project. There was one big knot in the middle of the limb just below the handle so I've decided to hollow it. Tillering this bow was a huge challenge for me. When removing sapwood from the back I felt too confident for a while and I've violated some growth rings on the back. To reinforce this spot I wrapped it with lineen twine and sealed with hide glue. In the end I'm very happy with the result and with this sweet shortbow. I will be making a few short arrows dedicated for this bow. I'm very curious how fast could it be.
Let me know what do you think guys.
