As Qantas farewelled it’s last 747 aircraft destined for retirement in the United States, CEO Alan Joyce says the nation and aviation must look forward to the next chapter.
Qantas first welcomed 747s in 1971, and it quickly became a mainstay of its fleet with 65 747 aircrafts flying Qantas for close to half a century.
“Australia has been changed by this aircraft, Qantas has been changed by this aircraft, world aviation has been changed by this aircraft,” Mr Joyce said.
“But you also have to look forward to the next chapter.”
