Melbourne's track has historically favored the Prancing Horse, and while anticipating forthcoming developments planned for Suzuka and, notably, Imola, let's delve into the innovative solutions concealed within the Ferrari SF-24.
Up to this point, the SF-24 has showcased brilliance in medium-speed corners, even outpacing the Red Bull RB20, while holding its ground in faster turns. However, it encounters challenges in slower corners, primarily due to traction issues upon corner exit. It's worth noting that the SF-24 has undergone significant transformation compared to its predecessor, the SF-23, thanks to Enrico Cardile's team, who overhauled the chassis (now longer and narrower) and the transmission (shorter). This redesign has resulted in a new position for the power unit, aimed at favoring specific car behaviors due to a shift in aerodynamic center of pressure.
Although the layout of the new Ferrari car surpasses that of the SF-23, fine-tuning remains necessary once critical areas are identified. While tire wear was a significant concern last year, this season has unveiled a challenge in generating optimal tire temperature.
