Black walnuts grow everywhere in my area we have several on or property (the front 10 acers we counted 47). They are a cash tree for sure. The nuts are very valuable, but the wood is one of the most expensive you can find.

If you have the time and energy to collect and harvest them they can be a good money maker for the homestead not to mention a steady food supply for family or livestock.
