US President Donald Trump has sent well wishes to the former partner of accused sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, claiming to have met her numerous times.

In a White House briefing the President was questioned on whether he believed Ghislaine Maxwell would testify against and turn in powerful men including Prince Andrew.

"I just wish her well frankly. I've met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach and I guess they lived in Palm Beach but I wish her well, whatever it is," he said.

"I don't know the situation with Prince Andrew; just don't know; not aware of it."

Ghislaine Maxwell is behind bars ahead of her trial after being denied bail.

She has pleaded not guilty to luring underage girls to be sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein.

President Trump previously denied any relationship with the disgraced financier.
