The Open Colonic System is beneficial for those extremely constipated and impacted because there's no size limit on the matter that can pass because it's an open hole which your waste passes through.
It is designed to cleanse the lower intestines. It's a self insertion device, where there is a continuous flow of water.
The view tube is on the floor and hard to fully evaluate any specifics in your matter, although you will be able to judge quantity of matter visually.
Many people prefer the Open System because it's more private, since you are by yourself.
While it IS POSSIBLE to fill the whole colon with an Open System, it's unlikely because you're by yourself and have to consciously hold in the water yourself, unlike the Closed System where the therapists controls the water pressure.
I also believe that it's harder to judge for yourself if you've had a productive session. As a therapist, I've seen hundreds of colonics. How can a person who's jist starting their journey gauge what a productive session is? They have no basis for comparison.
HOWEVER, they definitely have their place.
If someone has hemorrhoids or are severely constipated or having LESS than one bowel movement in a day, we MUST begin them on the Open System to clear out some of the initial matter before we can graduate them to the closed system.
