Hi everyone, thank you so much for watching my second Youtube video. In this video I went fishing for big flathead again and got a good amount of fish on a few different sand flats.
Remember to be persistent and put in the hours to find this fish. For every fish you see me catch on video, there are hours of planning, setting up, and exploring gone into getting them. These fish do not come easy, be prepared to work hard for them and explore your area as much as you can. Some spots will have good fish one day and then nothing for months on end, you have to be determined to find the fish.
Remember again that what you are seeing in these videos is truly the best of the best, and that fishing, especially for flathead for big dusky flathead in Victoria is not always easy. With that said you can still go out there wherever you are in Australia and chase these great fish! With a bit of determination and narrowing down of your skills, you'll be onto some good fish in no time!
I hope you learned a few good tips and tricks for how to catch big flathead on sand flats! I hope you can apply anything you might have picked up from watching this video to help you catch flathead in your local system. Whether it be Lakes Entrance, Gippsland Lakes, Lake Tyers, Mallacoota or any rivers and systems further up north, using the techniques seen in this video will catch you good fish!
Thanks again for watching, I have listed the gear I used down below and you can go and check it out for yourself if you wish!
As always, plenty more to come!
Remember all dusky flathead over 55cm must be put back healthy! Don't keep them out of the water for more than 2-3 minutes. Take your photo, take a measurement and then send them on their way. If you have to swim the fish for a while before it revives itself, chances are you kept it out of the water for too long. We have to look after these beautiful creatures.
All the best,
Josh :)
