Today I unbox the MF3RS3 M from thecubicle. The first thing I realized was how fast the cube felt; it has a kind of slippery feel which I’m not completely sure I like yet. I was forced to adjust my turning style, which I’d say is on the rougher side, in order to to not overshoot/lockup. The stock tensions were also super loose for my preferences. It felt like the cube could corner twist/pop any second. After adjusting tensions this problem subsided, but I noticed that I locked up a bit more. I’m sure after a few weeks I’ll have a better handle on this cube, and can see it as my main.
As an aside, this is my first new speedcube in probably five years, as I’ve been pretty out of touch with the cubing community. As a result I’m not all that sure what the current standards are and how this cube compares. I did notice that this was pretty much the cheapest magnetic cube out there. I assure you all that I’m still cubing and improving, and I may be at Berkeley spring 2020 :P
