The annual report of the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force, which was tabled on Tuesday in the Senate, provides an update on the so-called Brereton Inquiry, which has been ongoing since May 2016.
Thus far, 55 separate separate incidents by special forces soldiers in Afghanistan - including allegations of unlawful killings - are under inquiry, which covers a range of alleged breaches of the Law of Armed Conflict.
